Welcome! . . . Living The Volunteer Spirit!
GFWC Brandon Service League, Inc.
Chartered May 9, 1960, GFWC Brandon Service League is a proud member of the General Federation of Women’s Clubs. Honoring the motto of Unity in Diversity, we come together as unique individuals dedicated to community improvement.
General Federation of Woman’s Clubs
The GFWC was established in 1890, and is an international organization of community based women’s clubs. GFWC is responsible for the establishment of 75 percent of America’s public libraries, was instrumental in the passage of child labor laws, the Pure Food and Drug act and has supported equal rights and responsibilities for women. Annual contributions of GFWC clubs average 13 million hours and $37 million dollars donated through 168,400 local club projects. The structure of GFWC and its state federations allows member clubs to address the emerging needs of individual communities and to respond quickly to calls for help. Local clubs have the ability to tap into resources and expertise at national, state and district levels while maintaining the freedom to develop programs which suit their local community needs.
Unity in Diversity
We are proud to be a part of the GFWC family and are actively working to shape our club to match the interests and lifestyles of women today and in the future. We are a diverse group of women united by our desire to make our community and our world a better place to live.
